The summer transfer window opens on Monday, which means that it is time for all of the clubs in the top tier to start thinking about their summer spending plans.
There are some players who could have the best chance of starting their careers in Italy, while others could be in for a big change.
The new season will kick off in Italy and we will analyse the best players available and their chances of breaking into the first team.
First of all, a few important things to note: the signing of Lazio’s Francesco Totti and Juventus’ N’Golo Kante is not expected to happen in the window, while Fiorentina’s Paulo Dybala is still on the books and is still eligible to join the club in the summer.
The likes of Andrea Barzagli, Daniele De Rossi, Matteo Bonucci and Francesco Castagnoli are also expected to stay at the club.
Totti and Kante are the two names which are already set to sign in Italy.
The Italian international striker was a regular starter in Lazio last season, scoring 14 goals in 41 appearances.
He had a lot of goals for the club last year, and is a player who can be considered a replacement for Graziano Pelle, who was loaned out to Inter Milan.
Kante has also made a name for himself with Inter Milan, scoring seven goals in 13 Serie A games last season.
He will be a nice addition to any side that wants to keep pace with the rest of the world.
De Rossi is a central defender who can play on the wing or in the middle.
He is one of the players who can score a lot and has a lot to offer the squad.
He has had a decent career with Sampdoria, and he will have to earn a place at Fiorengina in the coming seasons.
The player was one of Serie A’s best in 2014-15, when he was named the Golden Boot winner.
He also had an impressive 2015-16 campaign, scoring 20 goals in 36 games, helping his team to a Serie A title and a Coppa Italia triumph.
He was also part of the squad that won the Copa del Rey last season with Juventus.
DeRossi has already shown that he is capable of playing at the highest level, and could potentially help a team that has struggled to find the back of the net.
He can also play in the wide areas, and while he will likely be a bit more expensive than the likes of Grazián Castagnol and Francescos Pereira, he can provide a bit of stability for the team.
He is a very dynamic player and will fit in well with any side.
The Argentine has scored over 300 goals for Sampdori, and has scored more than 400 goals in his career, making him one of Italy’s best goal scorers.
He should also suit the style of Sampdora and will provide another dimension to the squad, and would be a big addition for a team looking to keep up with the likes for the title.
Another player who has been linked with a move to the Nerazzurri is Giorgio Chiellini.
The Juventus midfielder is one who can add a lot defensively, as he has scored nine goals in 26 games last term.
Chielli has a reputation for being an outstanding finisher and has helped Juventus to the Coppa italia last season as well as finishing second in Serie A with a whopping 28 goals in 40 games.
His performances will certainly help the Nerazurri.
Chielli is another player that could find his way into Fiorenzo’s first team squad.
The Italy international has been at the Bianconeri since the age of 17, and in his time at the Stadio Olimpico has scored 23 goals in 77 games.
He started his career at Lazio in 2012, scoring 19 goals in 54 games, and joined Fiorendino as a 17-year-old.
Chieso is a versatile player, and will be able to help the club with his versatility.
He has also scored five goals in 20 appearances for Fiorence this season, and also played in the 2014-2015 season with Sampdi, scoring five goals and adding two assists in 26 matches.
The 26-year old is one that could suit any team and would certainly be a quality addition for the Neruzino squad.
