Sharp Corporation will now support the Micro Four Thirds standard as they will be the driving force behind 8K imaging technology. In the future, Sharp will add Micro Four Thirds products to their line-up. In 2008, Olympus and Panasonic released the MFT or M4/3 for the design and development of mirrorless interchangeable lens digital cameras, camcorders and lenses.
Currently they have announced a model of its compact 8K video camera that is currently in development. It has planned to feature a Micro Four Thirds mount and a CMOS sensor capable of delivering 8K resolution at 30 fps using the H.265 codec.
I found an interview with Kaino-san on development of 4K camera where he talks about its features, price point and target consumers. This camera has a big 5.5 inch touch screen and comparatively light weight which is ideal for consumers.
This is a good news for consumers as more companies are adopting MFT standard. You will be carry lightweight camera that has exceptional photo quality and 4k to 8k resolution videos.
